Tales Swallowed Away

it would seem great stories,
linger at the bottom of a wine glass,
the characters may change;
some days, distorted memories puddle together,
persisting in their bittersweet backwash,
echoing ripples of time,
and lost hours in a shallow pool —

seconds of drunken enlightenment
fill glazed eyes with momentary consciousness,
the barrage of almost empty glasses,
parading the silence of loneliness,
they chime their stories,
at the bottom of each glass,
clinking, until next time …

{and all the people sing,
“Keep the glasses full”}

  1. More than anything in life..

    from the time of earliest memories without words..

    i see magic as TRUTH.. and then culture takes that away.. sadly as life can be…

    The stories of magic do live on in water of chalice that is always flowing more

    in essence than form of glass will ever tell… or know…

    And i do have hope..

    that i will hear another AMR tale before the month of

    January does end….that comes true for now…

    i will always be your friend..

    CAUSE you friend helped me to realize again..

    that magic is real in synchronistic

    way of life..:)

    Welcome back if only for a moment..

    at the bottom of a chalice

    of water that lives…

    for NOW..:)

  2. Thank you katiemiafrederick for these grand words! I really like the poet flow of your comment.

    Life has taken on so many paths at once and I find myself unable to share my thoughts as I used to on here. Hopefully, I will be able to share another poem before the end on Jan. 🙂
