Healing Waters
i dither into
one breath that strokes through waving
waters, unlocked gasp —
treading frozen tides
feet hovering between life,
and escape; vanish
to an unknown state —
gathered whirlpools, spiraling
down unknown paths,
diluted ties shrivel —
unloving ropes loosed; awaken
rushing floods — cleansed heart
flowing anew
One of my favorites…
Yay! Thank you!
I particularly like the image created in the last lines. The heart being the toughest to heal and a strong force of healing finally breaking through the ropes of restriction to renew.
Thank you louiville! The heart is the toughest to heal … it has taken a long time for this hear of mine to feel strong again. 🙂
Learning from the journey is strength in itself. Continuing on with that strength shall make your journey much more enjoyable.
Love this!
Thank you lauramacky! I am so happy to read this!
You’re welcome 🙂
This very much describes the experience of awakening emotions that are frozen to me..an experience that is becoming more common than ever i think..and even more reason..for poetry to grow..as a medicine for heart to grow..or come back again..:)
Indeed, katiemiafrederick, indeed! I think this heart of mine may be feeling some sort of renewal, some good transitions, to help appreciate even more the painful ones. 🙂
