Eye glance, caught gaze,
Wonderment, dare we stare?
Laughing spectacles,
infatuated and blind.
Summer melted to winter,
time spun to dreams unfold.
Thunderstorms pounded,
wrestling above to stop this frolic.
Never spoken, soft tears,
Secrets kept deep in the dark,
never eluding the night.
Ever hidden in the day.
Whispers and tales not explained,
snowflake covered face,
walking alone in the black,
shivering from lost thoughts.
No resolve for heart-broken cries,
evasive pondering not shared.
Lavish sundries dissolved,
smiles faded, the sting of being ignored.
Circling frozen lake,
seeking thought in labyrinth,
even as the hot sun beats down,
the freeze of unknowing scalds.
As the frail body walks away,
tears flood the steaming ground,
movie playing in midnight hope,
vanished stuck on the repeat.
Stop-rewind-play,
happy never known,
sad ending cannot tell,
it is never finished.
