Memories Fading
silhouette, those tiny hands, fingerprints,
falling shades slipping along the moon’s dust –
that Moon, the one you claimed we shared;
ramblings packed under layers, lists of promises
scattered in strings, you’ll never be alone –
empty vows, unattainable words
visions, movies repeating a past,
moments, lurking through tracers of time,
hours lost, spent on stars,
slowly dying, exploding little cracks
exposing a tiny heart,
pierced, clutching to a plead –
validate me!
hopeful young eyes scale a gigantic sky,
aching soul, segregated;
fractions dispersed,
grasping to memories,
petite feet once frolicked with a childish heart,
ghastly! they fell through a vector,
an never-ending pursuit,
hugging closely a lost cause,
that dismantled heart,
desperately longing –
a perpetual fade
Memories fade but they never go away.
So true, Kimberly. Some days I wish they would quietly go never to return. 🙂
