Embarking
caught whimsy of a heart –
they did,
umbrella’s strewn their lifts;
celebrating glee,
caught upon a imaginator’s dream
clift’ing on edges –
shim-shimmery, delectable
swaying make-believe,
stroke of maddening realities –
umbrella’s crook handles dancing,
bottom spring flip-flapping,
top spring clap-snapping,
tips and tops flare-flinging,
imaginator’s bod step-stepping;
embarking on umbrella’s whimsy,
taking flight –
they did
rubbing elbows with cloistering clouds,
twirling, sun-drenched midst
raindrops waiting to be free,
caught upon an umbrella’s dream –
swooping into an ambiguous sea
I love the inherent rhythm in this poem. I like how you did the “flip-flapping clap-snapping…” Wonderful!
Thank you! I had fun writing this and “feeling” the words flow off my tongue. 🙂
