Paracosmic Reality

even as the years pass by,
my salty tears,

into a well of fantasy,
pleasures of my make-believe,
illusions; i created you to be –
who have i loved?
so

ago, into now and future tense?
even in well-crafted hallucinations,
you abandon me, invading reality!
blurred lines gripping me,

to ecstasy, what could have been,
yet never be –
a secret place just for me,
desires for you; wicked chicanery
my arms wrapped tightly –
long-lost hug you soaked into me,
and eyes-locked good-bye so quietly,

i am not real,
so tenderly;
your semblance hovers over me,
our silhouette’s dance on streets of infinity,
haunting whispers –
you’ll never leave me,
as you

your hand, quite delicately –
the portrait of likeness,
painted so deeply through me,
our last forever, i long to see;
my fuzzy lines collapsed,
indefinitely,
i cannot live without paracosmic reality
{your breath warms my neck, soothingly}

This is inspired by dVerse in celebration of their two year anniversary. Happy Anniversary dVerse! And thank you dVerse team I love your ideas and your poems. I get excited and inspired every time I go to read what others share. It always gets my mind connecting and forming visuals dancing in my head. Fabulous!

I missed a prompt that got my creativity flowing on Saturday so this morning I decided that I wanted to write about fantasy and reality. Two worlds that I teeter between every moment of my life. I enjoy my fantasy’s, but my mind is one that constantly pulls me back into reality. It is an awesome ride some days. Though I did not write about summer, I did try to melt heat of delusional passions. 😉

  2. Love what you did with the visuals on this one. A great mix of reality and fantasy…

    From form,to words and story you have once again managed to produce a fine note in my head.

    really interesting…i like the cascading words…the line i am not real is an intriguing realization…then them as the portrait painted by your own hand…its hard to tell where reality ends and fantasy begins…

    • Thank you Brian! I had great visuals swarming my mind while the words rushed out with this one. I do enjoy mixing my fantasy and reality on a daily basis if I get that moment to capture them together through word I feel a certain euphoria. 🙂

    • Thank you BTM!! Woot! Got my insanity on today feelin’ good. However, I would suggest not partaking in a insanity workout outside in 90 degree weather. Um, yeah … Good thing I had some shade, but will not be doing that again. Hee hee

      • Oh my gosh outside in 90 degrees?? Ahhh, I was dying yesterday in our basement because it was so humid, I couldn’t breathe! Glad you didn’t get heat stroke!
        Glad you’re feeling up to being insane again! lol
