Facing Habits

Facing Habits

succumbing to looking glass,
a vision of illusion,
rippling on its surface,
eyes intent on knowing

reaching into looking glass,
pulling paper self,
tears scratch down the middle,
[insert onomatopoeia]
crinkled up fragments –
perfect for spit balls

tripping over looking glass,
landing into self,
a new found sense –

dancing with looking glass,
swaying to and fro,
clutching too close,
cracking open reflection

slamming down looking glass,
trapped voices slip through shards,
released; {from} self-made prison,

desperate for looking glass,
pieces of its puzzle,
sharply placed together,
dismorphic comforts –

[looking glass, shattered –
old habits,
intrepidly dismantled]

Simply brilliant. I am looking forward to the day when that’s what happens with my old habits. Wonderful imagery!

    • Thank you invisibleme! Me too! I have not “arrived” by any means. I am not sure I will with all of my old habits, however, they are nice thorns in my side that give some bursts of writing inspiration. 🙂 I just went over to your blog and LOVED your about page! I had to follow. Look for to reading more from you!
