Unblemished Aroma 

the scent of this woman?
corrupted by swarms,
destruction of adoring males;
speak sweetly –
all the almosts; she was,
so close, pity
the mirrors all the same,
the tears? still
and pain
the words,
ripple and sneer
“Oh, you are such a pretty”
lyrics blaze wrenching innards,
delicate beauty,
“You would never be enough”
all she hears, all she hears,
how ugly and almost –
no matter, with each change,
starvation won no lover,
scars cluster her eyes and ears,
filled with blank stares –
pity, they all say
she was almost…
the scent of this woman?
collected her fragrance,
held it tightly,
until someone –
cherished her; completely
