words! tyranny spins,
pummel; contorted dialect –
grandiose in nature,
spikes and hooks dig in;
festering wounds, scars –
confusion?(once sane mind)
withered;
clouded, foggy truths –
rest not until sucked dry!
weakly, cover emotional lesions;
doubt creeps into the eyes?
pleading –
ethereal reality,
(God! How long before I waste?)
smoke suffocates;
and the words say,
I do all this for you!
Oh, I feel so much emotion and pain and struggle in this. Sadness too. I feel like I understand it all too well. I have a love hate relationship with verbal communication
Hi Gretchen! I have that love-hate relationship with verbal communication too. I can find it so confusing and at times hurtful. At least we have poetry to help get those emotions out! 🙂
So beautiful poem, Angel !! hugs ~~ Jussy
Thank you Jussy! Some ((hugs)) for you too!
