Day of Frige
a marvelous day –
spectacle of deep purples,
unfortunate for You,
You lost your name,
they stripped You of your rightful title –
conformed, wrangled into Friday.
most presume, You to be fun and flighty,
a day of impulse,
Saturday morning’s regret –
a forgotten whim.
but not I, no.
I have stayed up late with You,
alone in my days –
You and I conversing,
sharing our philosophical ramblings,
to me, You are stately and wise.
revealing your true nature,
of who your name represents.
magical, lovely, Beauty,
a name that is dangling in poems,
it stirs mystery from which it came.
still You; with your rich,
dripping, thick purple,
melting me into the moon,
I evaporate into your night.
I walked; many of nights,
unpeeling the layers of my heart –
You my confidant,
cradling me in sweet comfort.
sharing the nighttime clouds,
into your stance.
we; held each other closely,
two being seen as frivolous,
both; used only for sport.
our playfulness seemed to fool,
our trickery kept us together –
hiding the serious thoughts that dwelled.
You and I, alone together,
You sucked me in and seared me tight,
covering my existence in your letters.
hiding five in your palm,
blending my red with your purple,
sweet liturgies under the stars,
gulped down into the black night,
swaying in the pull of the moon,
dancing under trees.
our rituals of songs –
as the night time critters,
smiled with us.
sitting on the balcony,
gazing into the blending,
rippling, night subatomic particles.
falling asleep with smiles,
waking to no regrets,
laughing at the memories with Saturday,
who enjoys You very much too.
You and I;
my abyssal –
we share our oneness;
in the dark
my mysterious Day of Frige.
I thought I would share one of my older posts, this is from October 2011. I cleaned it up a little. It was inspired by my fascination with mythology and the names of the week. (And the memories of Friday and me, waiting for Saturday to come. :-)) Happy Friday!
