Retrospect (Winter)

does your heart ache too
are you alone, or caressing another
fondling their mind with flirtatious thoughts
cradling their head, right before your kiss,
stroking their hands to keep them warm,
do you miss me, did you ever?

do your lips melt into another,
shivering your bodies close; in sync
soothing soft words, quietly –
never spoken,
are your eyes folding into them,
do they have hair that falls like mine,
or is it more spectacular, elegant strands
that frame that face, but mine falls asunder?

imaginations ruin my smile,
music leaves me in bitter angst,
weather has tossed the memories of you,
cast them in colorful leaves,
reds, yellows, crunchy brown,
nights I sat alone,
empty dark room,
wondering the same things –
did you find her or something else,
that her or it, you could not commit for?

sipping my coffee in flashbacks,
watching the movie,
the story,
the poems that flood –
gust over me,
dreaming I am Keats;
and my words are all real,
my Star adores me too.

reliving past dreams, melancholy groans,
my eyes still water for you,
knowing it does not matter,
the warmth of my flesh has failed,
but my words are all real,
in retrospect I cannot uncommit to you,
the snow will thaw, summer will burn,
my heart is edged in stone,
slowly the leaves will turn lavish green,
I’ll smile into the sun, until winter,
the snow will trickle down the boulder,
hammered within my chest.

(Another poem from my other blog I felt like sharing.)
