Temptations Of A Muse II

Temptations Of A Muse II

what does a Muse do,
when they fall in love with their poet,
trembling at the thought of real flesh?

suspended in a shimmer,
dangling from a glimmer, ever gently grazing,
barely there dancing in a quiver,
passing through a lightening bolt,
a glint of something to remember,
a dart,a fleet,a flicker
a love affair forever.

why would they let go,
an enticing way to flow,
embracing all the pleasures of humanness –
temptations of desires,mystical heaving fires,
the longing to embrace like Psyche and Eros(?)

This piece speaks of such truth in the life of Poets and painters, at least to me, thank you for your words always such a journey worth taking.
    I hope you are well.

    • Benjamin, I enjoyed writing these two pieces. I had a story playing in my head of a muse and the recipient of the muse’s inspiration. I knew I did not have enough to turn it into a longer story so I spilled it through poetry.

I tend to go into another world with my muses, I do not see them having any sort of gender, but they take on all forms and emotions. I become very fond of them, but I know too well that they can pack up and leave in an instant. There is that feeling of loss after they are gone and I wondered what the muse would feel if it fell in love too. I have such fun inside my brain. Ha ha ha

I am so glad you came along on the journey and I was able to share with others. 🙂

I am well today, I hope you are too!
