Corroded Heart 

a good-bye was said in silence,
no utterance to sooth the heart,
crackling molds of decadence,
shredded, splattering parts,
ripped and torn in ashes,
smithereens blistered in flares,
a heart that could love only once,
wasted, tattered, unfair –
ruthless, loveless scoundrels,
ate it all away,
a lifeless vessel laid wasteless,
as they all happily played

    Great imagery. This reminds me someone I once truly cared about, but, alas, the loveless games played buy ‘others’ left him a ‘lifeless vessel’…a shame really 😦

    • Thank you ladyliterati! Unfortunately, I can relate to your friend… I wish no one ever went through such pains. However, I have learned sometimes they make the best writing inspirations.

    • Thank you yepiratemanagua! That is great to hear {read} – I wonder often times if the words are flowing the way I hear them for others. 🙂

      • I think this one really is effective. The reader is taken by the rhythm and flows with it – though the words bite, as they should, its corrosive after all, and not too sentimental at all..some wonderful play on words, as the last line admits
