Reflection

Reflection

Reach in, reach in –
pull me out.

Window of existence,
strands dangling,
flailing
screaming
am I alive?

Am I here,
in the waking moment
are the reflections of me
a self
an ego
does she exist?

Oh, how I hear a sweet voice
a grin,
she gave me a smile.

The girl,
the woman in the mirror
dancing in the bouncing light
the background behind –
magnificent ballroom
a ballerina
charming tights
your black slippers,
snug around your toes
are those your eyes deary?

I feel old,
tired eyes
so, so tired searching;
for you to come home.

Come home,
where have you been?

Your eyes look so sad,
sad…
sparkle faded
bloom again
you are allowed to smile.

Beam shiny face,
look at me in the mirror,
look through the portholes
the dark eyes that wave,
past the distortions,
I am here –
I do hear

Calling you to come home,
stretch out your hands,
sink into the glass –
what is that reflective surface saying?

You are there,
open, open your vision
set your fingers gliding,
feel the entity –
her
the one staring back at you.

She is there,
calling
beckoning
straining for you –
to come home.
