I
Am
Extinguished
Petrified by my own sight
Fear rampages
Skeleton bones rattle
Seeking my face
Eyes blackened by lies
Clouded perceptions
I
Am
Skeleton bones
Shaking in the wind
Grasping
At
Hollow
Sinews
Pulling me back together
Correct frame
True sight
Shattered
Pieces
Scattered
Gathered
Set Joints
Fragments sewn into place
Grinning crow’s feet around my eyes
Genuine gleam for the first time
Pumping life through an unconditional heart
Folded into abode
I
Am
Flesh in the full
Alive and well
And my skeleton bones shake
Their rhythm with flesh and blood
Glaring a whole body
In the reflection
A reflection seen
For the first time
I
Am
Broken together
Made one
My flesh and bones
Discovering they can beat as one
To the same heart
Love this…yes, beat as one! Very healing. Very visual. I keep thinking how much I appreciate…no love…no admire….your rawness and ability to be entirely you in your poetry. That’s what poets do…reveal their souls in ways that confront and soothe the spirit all at once. Hugs 🙂
Thank you Sam! I can’t seem to keep my soul in my skin! Hee hee I appreciate so much your comment, I really, really do. 🙂
