Let the investigation begin.
Principle me plurality,
principle me parsimony,
take two of theories to see.
Decipher with razor sharpness,
generalizations simple as can be.
Grant me few assumptions.
Theory of mine the least complicated.
Is it so?
Do not multiply this needlessly.
It is either yes or no.
Science and philosophy state it.
Can you answer me this Lex Parsimoniae,
does it apply to the heart’s affairs?
My hypothesis for the hearts of men,
two great theories before my eyes.
Which one is the simplest?
How do I shift my burden of truth,
in the principles of emotions?
I know that you are not irrefutable,
still could your scientific prose reveal?
Yet no answers with the less complications.
I believe you have failed me so.
Simpler theories are easier to understand?
If only this time it could apply,
my heart would be the wiser.
My answers would be revealed with clarity.
My adoration would be properly placed,
in probability.
You and I both know, Lex Parsimoniae,
it is not the case with the affections of a man.
Or the propensity that flows from a woman.
