Dysfunctional Genetic Code

Dysfunctional Genetic Code

Part of me I cannot remove
Pieces that live within my strands
Linked from the second of existence
With nothing more to add
No understanding
No empathy
Bonds only from lineage
Do you even know my name?

My face is yours
You look right pass me
ME!
Your own

Family Tree withered at roots
Dried up cells of wanting
Bitter words sink in vessels
What was I ever to you?

Narcissism our playmate
Kin I know your names
Your eyes that look through me
DNA similar somehow proteins deformed
What am I to you my pedigree brood?

Your perfect strands judging mine
Speak around me
Forget I am a leaf on this family tree
Forgotten, or ignored?

Tell me do I share more with a chimp?
Words do not matter to you
My breath is but a fade in your sight
Good for hurting a while
Until the next of clan speaks out of line

We all know our roles
Quiet ones serve
Opinions will be beaten
Creativity shall die
Conformity the proper DNA strand
Smile sweet little ones
Make them all happy
Let the rulers reign
