Almost Perfect
You are so lovely,
great and sweet,
I do adore you,
but you are almost perfect.
Pleasure to see you,
be with you a time,
you make smile,
but you are almost perfect.
Your kindest beyond others I know,
your laughter and gaiety I cherish,
I see your goodness,
but you are almost perfect.
You have beauty that captures my eyes,
I enjoy all that you are,
I want to keep you in my pocket,
but you are almost perfect.
We have so much fun,
our love is so grand,
you are special to me,
but you are almost perfect.
See you will never be right,
I will have to change this or that,
you cannot be my ideal, I told you that.
You are such a dear, wonderful I say,
but you are almost perfect, and I say good day.
~
You say I am almost perfect?
You?
I will share my thoughts too.
No such thing as perfect!
You live in a dream.
Trying to take my dignity,
filling me with lies
about who I should be.
I strip off your words,
I throw them back!
I am most perfect you imperfect mass.
How dare you compare?
Rip at my soul,
cause me to fret,
feel so low.
You are the problem,
no it’s not me,
I am most perfect,
as perfect as me.
So I bid you good day,
I’ll see you around,
been nice knowing you,
beware, there are imperfections all around.
I love how you’ve turned this poem.
You know what my lovely friend…you are PERFECT, you are perfect to God.
And that’s perfect with me.
Love you so much.
