Speak me a riddle, play me a song,
sing me a lyric, write me a limerick.
I heard your ballad, I read your prose,
I lived your myth, embraced your rhyme.
Living out our alliteration,
bursting out with our poetic diction.
The ode has been transfixed to the forces of nature.
The sonnet fused into the stars for all eternity.
See the haiku floating off the leaves as they fall?
The dimeter flooding through the flow of the deep waves.
The lines and stanzas became a life of their own.
We tried to grab the free verse but it ran off without us.
Gone in an instant!
All of our music, poems, emotions through word,
Embraced into the existence for all time.
